Former Super Eagle winger Victor Moses has been unable to leave Dubai after a rocket scare forced the closure of airspace around an airport in the Middle East, delaying his arrival at his new club, FC Kaisar.
The Kazakhstan side confirmed that the travel disruption prevented Moses from joining the team ahead of their opening fixture in the Kazakhstan Premier League.
According to the club’s head coach, Andrey Ferapontov, the Nigerian winger is currently stuck in Dubai because flights out of the city were affected by the security situation.
He said in comments reported by Vesti, “We’re expecting two more foreign players.”
“You’re probably familiar with the situation with Moses and Ezekiel. For various reasons, they couldn’t make it to the championship.”
He added, “Moses can’t fly out of Dubai due to the political situation. We’re waiting for him.”
The disruption reportedly followed a rocket landing near an airport in the region, prompting authorities to shut down surrounding airspace and suspend several flights as a precautionary move.
The development also affected another Nigerian player, Imoh Ezekiel, who was also expected to join Kaisar but could not travel in time for the club’s first match.
Both players were absent when Kaisar began their league campaign against FK Zhenys on March 8.
Ferapontov said the club would have a clearer picture of the squad once the two players arrive.
He said, “When they rejoin, we’ll have a full squad and we’ll have a good idea of their fitness.”
Moses joined Kaisar in January on a one-year contract after leaving Luton Town, extending a professional career that has taken him across several European leagues.
The 35-year-old previously played for clubs including Chelsea, Liverpool, and Inter Milan.
Club officials said they expect Moses and Ezekiel to join the squad once the travel situation stabilises and flights resume.
