Paris — Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) emphatically ended Inter Miami’s run in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup with a commanding 4-0 victory in the Round of 16 on Sunday.
The European champions entered the clash as clear favourites and swiftly demonstrated their superiority. PSG took the lead as early as the 6th minute when Joao Neves expertly headed in a free-kick delivered by Vitinha at the back post.
Neves was again at the heart of PSG’s attacking prowess as he finished off a well-coordinated team move to double the Ligue 1 side’s advantage against the Major League Soccer visitors.
The visitors’ defence then suffered a blow when Tomas Aviles inadvertently turned the ball into his own net, handing PSG a 3-0 lead. Shortly afterwards, Achraf Hakimi capitalised on a rebound to make it 4-0 before the break.
The second half remained goalless as PSG maintained control to secure their place in the quarter-finals. They will next face a tough opponent, awaiting the winner between Bayern Munich and Flamengo.
PSG’s clinical display highlighted their intent to lift the Club World Cup trophy and underscored their status as one of the leading football clubs globally.
