Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen marked a significant personal achievement on Sunday, scoring his 200th career goal and adding an assist as Galatasaray cruised to a dominant 4-0 victory over Kayserispor to tighten their grip on top spot in the Turkish Super Lig.
The Nigeria international reached the milestone in emphatic fashion, taking his overall tally to 165 goals at club level and 35 for the national team, further cementing his reputation as one of the most lethal strikers of his era.
Osimhen has now recorded 14 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions this season. He went into the encounter in fine form, having also found the net in Galatasaray’s previous league match — a 3-1 win against Karagümrük.
The hosts started aggressively and were rewarded early, taking the lead within seven minutes when Aaron Opoku inadvertently turned the ball into his own net while trying to clear a dangerous cross.
Galatasaray doubled their advantage in the 26th minute after Osimhen was brought down in the box, with the striker confidently stepping up to convert the resulting penalty and make it 2-0.
