The Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) has unveiled the groupings for the 2025 NWFL Championship, scheduled to take place in Abia State from 11 to 21 September.
The second-tier competition formed part of the NWFL’s 2025 football calendar, following the successful staging of the 2024/25 Premiership Super 6 in Ikenne earlier this year.

Unification FC captain Olufemi Ifeoluwa expressed confidence in her team’s readiness, emphasising consistent training and warm-up matches.
“We centred our preparation on adequate training sessions alongside friendly matches and competitive games,” she said.
She also acknowledged the high expectations surrounding the squad: “Our Director, team manager, coaches, and fans are expecting the best from us, and by God’s grace, we will give our very best.”
Addressing the challenge of balancing academics with football, Ifeoluwa credited the club’s management for their support. She revealed the squad would largely retain its core from last season, with fresh additions expected to come through the club’s youth development programme, UFC Talents.
Unification FC, who finished second in Group B1 last season, have been drawn into Group A2 alongside Sunshine Queens, Fortress Ladies, and Kwara Ladies. All group matches will be hosted in Umuahia.
