Manchester United ended their winless Premier League run after Ruben Amorim guided his side to a dramatic 3-2 victory over newly promoted Burnley at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
The result brought relief following two league games without a win and a shock Carabao Cup exit to Grimsby Town in midweek.
United started brightly and benefited from good fortune when Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen turned the ball into his own net midway through the first half.

But Amorim’s men failed to build on their dominance, and South African striker Lyle Foster equalised after the break with a clinical finish.
Bryan Mbeumo quickly restored United’s lead, linking up neatly with captain Bruno Fernandes to fire home.
Yet the hosts’ celebrations proved short-lived, as Jaidon Anthony levelled matters for Burnley just 90 seconds later, setting up a tense finale.
The decisive moment arrived deep into stoppage time. Referee Sam Barrott initially waved away United’s penalty appeals, but VAR official Stuart Attwell advised a review.
After checking the pitchside monitor, Barrott awarded the spot-kick, which Fernandes calmly converted in the 97th minute to secure United’s first league win of the season.
The victory came at a cost, with new signing Matheus Cunha forced off injured in the first half, raising concerns about his availability for upcoming fixtures.

Amorim will hope this hard-fought win proves the spark that reignites United’s season.
