Manchester United midfielder Casemiro has announced he will leave the club at the end of the 2025–26 season, bringing an end to his three-and-a-half-year spell with the Red Devils.
The 33-year-old joined United from Real Madrid in August 2022 and quickly became a key figure in the midfield. Over his time at Old Trafford, he made 146 appearances and scored 21 goals, while contributing around 13 assists, though the exact number is not fully confirmed. This season alone, Casemiro has scored four goals and provided one assist.

Reflecting on his decision, the Brazilian said:
“Knowing when stages come to an end. Knowing when to say goodbye when you feel that you will be remembered and respected forever. Four months to give my all for this badge and for our goal. Eternal respect and affection for Manchester United and its wonderful fans. Forever Red Devil.”
Casemiro began his professional career at São Paulo in Brazil, playing there from 2008 to 2013. He then moved to Real Madrid B in 2013 before being promoted to the first team, where he won multiple La Liga and UEFA Champions League titles. During the 2014–15 season, he spent a year on loan at FC Porto to gain further European experience.
Across his career, Casemiro has scored 66 goals and registered 40 assists, though these totals are likely slightly overstated. In Europe’s top leagues, he has contributed roughly 34 goals and 23 assists, with nine goals and five assists coming in UEFA Champions League matches.
With four months remaining in the season, Casemiro is expected to continue giving his all for Manchester United as he prepares to close this chapter of his career.
