Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim has acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding his team, suggesting that the most effective strategy is to approach each match as if it is the final opportunity to secure a victory.
As the Red Devils take a trip to Brentford on Saturday, the team is aiming for consecutive Premier League wins for the first time during Amorim’s challenging 10-month tenure.
Currently positioned 11th in the league, United comes into this match following a 2-1 home victory against Chelsea, which alleviated some pressure on the manager after a difficult start to the season.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Amorim emphasised the importance of developing momentum. “We must maintain a sense of urgency and pursue victory, regardless of the circumstances,” he stated.
He expressed awareness of the challenges posed by upcoming opponents. “Each game we prepare for feels daunting, yet we must focus on starting the match as effectively as we did against Chelsea, Burnley, and Arsenal.”
Despite a commendable performance, United’s season opener resulted in a 1-0 loss to Arsenal, although they achieved a 3-2 victory over Burnley.
Amorim highlighted that inconsistency has hindered the team’s performance for an extended period. “It is understandable that fans are uncertain about the team’s prospects in the next match. As the manager, I have my expectations, but the outcomes remain beyond our control.”
He continued, “The most effective approach is to treat every game as if it were the last opportunity. The next match is poised to be critically important for Manchester United.”
Recognising the emotions of the supporters, he noted the need to transform that sentiment into a sense of urgency on the pitch.

Amorim also commended new signing Bryan Mbeumo, who has made a significant impact since joining the team from Brentford in July.
“His contributions are vital; he brings a positive presence to the dressing room. Although he may not be the most vocal, his willingness to support the team is apparent. He demonstrates an exceptional work rate and offers a different attacking threat compared to last season. I am very pleased with Bryan’s performance.”
