As part of ongoing preparations for their Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinal encounter in Morocco, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced that the Super Eagles will depart Fez for Marrakech on Thursday.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the federation disclosed that the three-time African champions will relocate to Marrakech, where they are scheduled to face the winner of the quarterfinal playoff between Algeria’s Fennecs and DR Congo’s Leopards. The match is set to kick off at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The relocation aligns with a new logistical framework introduced by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for this year’s tournament.
Under the new policy, each participating team has been allocated a specific base camp, a system being implemented for the first time at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Following the quarterfinal fixture, the Super Eagles are expected to return to their base in Fez. Should they advance to the semifinals, the team will then travel to Rabat, where they could potentially meet tournament hosts Morocco or Cameroon on January 14.
According to team administrator Dayo Achor, who spoke on Tuesday evening, there is no cause for concern. “There is absolutely no issue in the camp. What some people interpreted as a disagreement between two brothers was resolved within a few hours. Everything is fine, and the team is fully focused on training,” he said.
The rumours arose after striker Victor Osimhen was observed making gestures towards teammate Ademola Lookman during the match. However, the NFF clarified that the matter was swiftly addressed.
