Even though Nigeria’s Super Eagles fell short in their quest for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title, billionaire businessman and BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu has confirmed he will still deliver the promised $500,000 reward to the team.
The Super Eagles suffered a tough 4-2 defeat on penalties to host nation Morocco in the semi-final on Wednesday, following a hard-fought 0-0 draw after extra time at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.
Rabiu shared his heartfelt message on social media, commending the players for their incredible resilience, bravery, and unwavering commitment throughout the competition.
He emphasised that while the final victory eluded them, their display had filled the entire nation with pride.
”You battled with passion, poured everything into the game, and demonstrated real grit and resolve on the field,” Rabiu stated.
”Even though the result didn’t go our way this time, you’ve earned the admiration of every Nigerian.”
