Mark Jacob, a former Legal Adviser for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has called out FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for trying to control the party’s direction from the outside.
Jacob, speaking on Channels Television, pointed out that Wike hasn’t attended a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in over a year yet continues to wield influence.
He stated emphatically that Wike cannot expect to direct party matters while being absent.

“You can’t sit at home and dictate what the PDP does,” he said, emphasising that the party is currently in a phase of reorganisation that requires direct participation from its members.
Drawing a contrast, Jacob highlighted his own consistent attendance at multiple PDP meetings, a clear jab at Wike’s absence.
He acknowledged that Wike has supporters and personal interests within the party but insisted that this doesn’t give him the right to dictate policy without being present.
Jacob challenged Wike to show up, participate in meetings, and present his arguments directly to party members.
While conceding that Wike is entitled to his opinions, Jacob stressed that those views must be open to debate and scrutiny by the party’s general membership.
He questioned how Wike could possibly enforce his will on others without engaging in the democratic process of the party.

He openly supported the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 elections, working against his own party, the PDP.
