Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State have reaffirmed their allegiance to the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, Nyesom Wike, pledging to follow his political directives for the 2027 general elections.
The declaration came during the minister’s thank-you visit to the area on Sunday, where he expressed gratitude for the support extended to him and President Bola Tinubu in the 2023 elections.

APC Chairman Rejoice Otobo assured the minister of total commitment, stating: “We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State.
Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do.”
Similarly, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Ikechukwu Obuzor pledged unwavering loyalty, promising strong backing in 2027.
Local Government Council Chairman Chita Eugene hailed Wike as the “political field marshal of the South-South”, praising his developmental contributions.
Federal Representative Victor Obuzor echoed this, citing Wike’s transformative impact on the area during his governorship.
The Seyi Tinubu Support Group also committed to Wike’s leadership and Tinubu’s re-election.
In response, the FCT minister emphasised the need to restore Rivers State’s political prominence, criticising recent leadership and insisting Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not return in 2027.
He highlighted the state’s regained national respect through his FCT performance.
