The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, has released the Certified True Copies (CTCs) of the four new Tax Reform Acts signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.
The Saturday release serves as a direct response to rising public alarm and allegations of “smuggled” provisions and unauthorized versions of the laws currently in circulation.
The decision to release the official documents—including the specific pages bearing the President’s signature and assent—was made in concert with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

The intervention was triggered after Abdussamad Dasuki raised a point of privilege on the House floor, alerting his colleagues to “material discrepancies” between the bills harmonized by the National Assembly and the versions later gazetted and sold to the public.
“The National Assembly is an institution built on records, procedure, and institutional memory,” Abbas stated.
“Once a law is passed and assented to, its integrity is preserved… there is no ambiguity about what constitutes the law.”
The House has made the following certified documents available for public verification and reference.
The Nigeria Tax Act, 2025, the Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025, the National Revenue Service (Establishment) Act, 2025 and the Joint Revenue Board (Establishment) Act, 2025.
These laws form the backbone of a modernized fiscal architecture for Nigeria, aimed at reducing duplications and improving tax compliance across the federation.
While the certified copies have been released to ensure clarity, an Ad-Hoc Committee chaired by Muktar Betara is still actively investigating how the inconsistent versions entered the public domain.
The Clerk to the National Assembly has also concluded an alignment process with the Federal Government Printing Press to ensure that all future hard copies and digital records are uniform and conform strictly to the version passed by the legislators.

Abbas has advised all professional bodies, institutions, and the general public to disregard any versions of the tax laws that do not carry the National Assembly’s official certification.
The House reaffirmed that only the documents released today form the authoritative legislative record for Nigeria’s 2026 fiscal year.
