The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on President Bola Tinubu to begin drafting his handover note, asserting that Nigerians are unwilling to grant him a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The statement was made by Hamza Madagali, the PDP’s Organising Secretary in Adamawa State, during a press briefing at the party’s state secretariat in Yola on yesterday.
Madagali accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of lacking direction and failing to deliver effective governance, claiming that Nigerians have grown disillusioned with Tinubu’s administration.
“Citizens have lost patience with Tinubu’s administration,” he stated, highlighting widespread dissatisfaction with the APC’s leadership.
The PDP chieftain pointed to the party’s recent ward congresses in Adamawa as evidence of its renewed unity and readiness to reclaim power.
He further noted that the composition of the APC’s National Convention committees signals that the ruling party’s grip on the presidency is weakening.
“The APC’s time in power at the presidency is coming to an end,” Madagali declared.
Madagali emphasised that Nigerians have become more discerning, having learned from past political missteps.
“Nigerians are wiser now; they now know the difference between original and fake,” he said, urging citizens to return the PDP to power as the only viable path forward.
He stressed that the electorate would not “gamble with the future of their children” by supporting the APC in 2027.
