Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, on Wednesday convened a strategic caucus meeting at the Bauchi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja, ahead of the party’s crucial National Executive Committee (NEC) session slated for Thursday (today).

The closed-door meeting brought together five sitting governors—Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), and host Bala Mohammed—as well as top national party figures.
Also in attendance were PDP Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagun; National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu; and several members of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
Sources say the session aimed to align party stakeholders and forge consensus ahead of the NEC meeting, where key decisions of the National Working Committee (NWC), including arrangements for the forthcoming national elective convention, are expected to be ratified.
The gathering is part of efforts to consolidate party unity and reposition the PDP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
