Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have expressed deep concern over the macroeconomic policies of the Federal Government (FG), which they say have worsened hardship across the nation.
In a communiqué issued in Asaba, the Delta State capital, after a meeting attended by 12 PDP governors, they called on the FG to urgently revisit and reform these policies to mitigate their adverse effects on Nigerians.
The communiqué was signed by Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed.
The governors used the meeting as a platform for peer review of developmental initiatives across PDP-governed states and a critical assessment of national and party affairs as the year 2024 came to a close.

They commended their colleagues for implementing people-centred policies and programmes aimed at alleviating hardship while laying the foundation for sustainable development in their respective states.
They also welcomed ongoing efforts to resolve the dispute within the National Working Committee (NWC) over the position of National Secretary.

Reaffirming their support for the Court of Appeal judgment on the matter, they advised the NWC to take immediate steps toward implementing the ruling.
After reviewing all legal requirements for convening a valid National Executive Council (NEC) meeting, the Forum recommended that the NWC reschedule the NEC meeting for March 13, 2025.
The governors commended the nation’s Armed Forces and security agencies for their relentless efforts in safeguarding the country, particularly in countering banditry and insurgency.
However, they expressed grave concern over the resurgence of non-state actors engaging in violent activities and called for the strengthening of the nation’s security architecture to decisively address these threats.
They expressed gratitude to the host governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, as well as the Government and People of Delta State, for their warm hospitality and for facilitating a successful, well-structured, and impactful meeting.
