The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed Sunday Udeh-Okoye as its National Secretary, following a recent Court of Appeal ruling.
In December, the Court of Appeal in Enugu nullified the appointment of Samuel Anyanwu and upheld Udeh-Okoye as the legitimate National Secretary of the party.
During a press briefing in Abuja during the week, PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, reiterated the party’s commitment to the court’s verdict.

Ologunagba maintained that the party position remains unchanged, and we will ensure full compliance with the judgment of the court.
In a separate development, the PDP condemned the assault of a journalist covering the party’s activities by an employee allegedly loyal to Anyanwu.

The party expressed dismay over the incident, where Emmanuel Okoronkwo, a party staff member reportedly attacked Ndubuisi Orji of The Sun newspaper.
The party also condemned Okoronkwo’s action of locking out the journalist and barred other accredited journalists from accessing the PDP National Secretariat to carry out their duties.
Ologunagba emphasised that such actions are against the principles of the party and promised disciplinary action against the perpetrator.
The PDP assured the public that the matter would be handled in line with its internal disciplinary framework to serve as a deterrent to future misconduct.
