Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has requested that friends, associates, and well-wishers refrain from organising birthday parties or placing newspaper advertisements in his honour as he approaches his 58th birthday on December 21, 2025.
In a statement released on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor urged those wishing to celebrate the occasion to instead channel their resources toward cash and material donations for less privileged children and persons with disabilities across the state.
Oyebanji requested that all gestures of goodwill be directed to the following state-run institutions.

These include the Government Special School for the Deaf in Ikoro-Ekiti, the Government Special School for the Blind in Ikere-Ekiti, and the Government Special School for Children with Physical and Intellectual Disabilities in Ido-Ekiti.
Others are the State Relief and Rehabilitation Centre for the Mentally Challenged, Ado-Ekiti and the Government Therapy Centre for Children with Disabilities, Ado-Ekiti.
The governor emphasised that financial and material support for these centres would be more meaningful and appreciated, as it directly impacts and “puts smiles on the faces” of children with special needs.
To facilitate the contributions, the state government provided official bank accounts for each beneficiary institution.
Donations to the EKSG Special School for the Deaf, Ikoro-Ekiti, were directed to account number 0080047610 with Premium Trust Bank.
Contributions to the EKSG Special School for the Blind, Ikere-Ekiti, were made to account number 0080047593, also with Premium Trust Bank.
The EKSG Special School for Children with Physical and Intellectual Disabilities, Ido-Ekiti, received funds through account number 0003574525 with Union Bank, while donations to the Ekiti State Relief and Rehabilitation Centre were paid into account number 0080045180 with Premium Trust Bank.
