The New Daily Prime earlier reported that the governor embarked on a two-week break that began on November 9 but was abruptly interrupted on November 19.
This was Oyebanji’s first statutory leaveneighbouringming office in October 2022.
However, rising insecurity in neighboring states compelled him to return to Ekiti early.
Upon his return on November 20, the governor immediately convened a high-level strategic meeting with heads of security agencies in the state to review the local security architecture.
This move is largely seen as a proactive measure to shield Ekiti from the wave of violence reported in nearby border communities, including recent attacks in Kwara State.
Oyebanji has also extended a warm welcome to the leadership of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE).
The governor congratulated the body on the success of its 21st Annual Conference held recently in Abuja and expressed delight that Ekiti State will host the Guild’s Standing Committee Meeting.
