The Osun State chapter of the African Action Congress (AAC) has denounced as fake and unauthorised a list circulating online claiming to represent the party’s State Working Committee (SWC). The party has urged members of the public to disregard the publication, insisting it did not originate from any legitimate party process.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the AAC Publicity Secretary in the state, Oyefusi Adedamola, the party clarified that the purported list had no basis in its recognised structures. According to Adedamola, the document “did not emanate from any recognised congress, party organ, or legitimate democratic process,” and therefore holds no authority within the party.
Reaffirming the validity of the leadership chosen during its recent congress, the AAC stated that the only lawful SWC remains the one elected on 22 November in Ilesa. The congress, the party said, was conducted with broad ward and local government representation, ensuring a transparent and inclusive process.
“The only lawful and validly constituted SWC of AAC Osun State is the leadership democratically elected at the State Congress held on 22 November in Ilesa,” the statement noted.

The party subsequently released the official list of duly elected officers, naming Olatunji Joshua from Atakunmosa East as the State Chairman. The leadership structure also includes Olaniyan Ridwan as Deputy Chairman for Osun Central, Azeez Wasiu for Osun East, and Faluyi Olufemi for Osun West.
Other elected officials are Oni Habeeb A. as State Secretary, Raufu Sodiq A. as Organising Secretary, and Oyefusi Adedamola as Publicity Secretary. The Treasurer position is held by Ogunfeyitmi Funke, with Ajilore Olusoji serving as Financial Secretary and Adeyemi Sunday Ajibade as Auditor.
The Women Leader is Ajiboye Opeyemi Mariam, while Folorunso Gbenga assumes the role of Youth Leader, completing the newly constituted committee.
The AAC further advised party members, supporters and the wider public to verify any information concerning its activities solely through official communication channels. It also urged individuals to report misleading publications to the appropriate authorities.
“AAC Osun State remains committed to transparency, internal democracy, and building a structure that truly represents the aspirations of our members and the good people of Osun State,” the statement concluded.
