Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has announced an ambitious grassroots mobilisation drive to recruit at least 203,000 new members into the All Progressives Congress (APC) across the state’s 203 wards, in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at an APC stakeholders’ meeting in Akure on Friday, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda, which he described as a bottom-up approach to strengthening the party’s structure and dominance nationwide.
“This is our party, and it is our collective responsibility to make it stronger,” the governor said. “The Renewed Hope Initiative has been structured to build the party from the grassroots, and our target is nothing less than one thousand new members per ward.”
Aiyedatiwa urged party members to remain united and prioritise consistent mobilisation within their communities. He stressed that regular engagement with stakeholders was essential to keeping the party coordinated, energised, and focused on electoral success.

The governor also used the occasion to highlight his administration’s development agenda. He revealed that memoranda of understanding had recently been signed for the establishment of a cement factory, a fertiliser plant, and a petrochemical industry within the state.
In addition, Aiyedatiwa assured attendees that efforts were underway to complete all inherited projects, while also announcing plans to take over strategic federal roads, including the Ikare-Akoko, Idanre-Akure, and Okitipupa-Igbokoda corridors, to ensure quicker delivery and maintenance.
Earlier at the meeting, the state APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, praised the governor for maintaining consistent dialogue with party stakeholders. He urged members to take the mobilisation message back to their wards and work towards a united and formidable grassroots presence.
“There is no division in our party. The government and the party remain one,” Adetimehin said. “Unity and commitment at the grassroots are critical if we want to sustain our dominance.”
Also speaking, the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Victor Olabimtan, reaffirmed the strength of the party’s internal unity. He expressed confidence in the governor’s leadership, saying that members in his constituency remained firmly aligned with the current administration.
With just under two years to the next general election, the mobilisation campaign marks a strategic push by the ruling party to consolidate its influence in Ondo State, considered a key stronghold in the South-West region.
