A former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, has launched a scathing critique against the newly formed opposition coalition, Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), dismissing its members as individuals “united by their hunger for power” without any genuine intentions for development.”
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting in Ochigbo, Rivers State, organized to rally support for President Bola Tinubu and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, Nwuche stated emphatically that the coalition poses no threat to President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
The coalition, which reportedly includes prominent figures such as former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, has vowed to unseat the incumbent administration in the next general elections.

However, Nwuche was quick to downplay their chances, questioning their motivation.
“These people just left power, but they are already hungry for it again,” he said. He contrasted their desperation with his own political stance, noting that he had left his position two decades ago but was still “supporting genuine courses.”
Nwuche, who recently received an appointment as Chairman of the South-South Development Commission, thanked President Tinubu and Chief Wike, praising the President for his confidence in Wike and his love for the people of Rivers State and the Niger Delta region.
He also commended President Tinubu for his “bold reforms and economic transformation,” including the removal of fuel subsidies, an action which, he said, has provided state governors with more funds to pay salaries and execute projects.
The former Deputy Speaker also hailed Wike as an “excellent performer,” asserting that the FCT Minister has transformed Abuja with numerous completed and ongoing projects, just as he had done during his tenure as governor of Rivers State.
Nwuche concluded his address by urging the people to continue their support for President Tinubu, stating, “We are going to support Tinubu’s second term. It is the turn of the South to do eight years, and President Tinubu is doing a wonderful job of it.”
