Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has distanced himself from a recent motion seeking to expel prominent leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose.
In a press statement signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Gyang Bere on Saturday, Mutfwang clarified that he does not support the move to expel Wike, Fayose, Samuel Anyanwu, and other party leaders.

He emphasised that the contentious subject of expulsion was “neither discussed by the Governors Forum nor at NEC” before the motion was formally presented.
Mutfwang stressed that the proposal for expulsion does not reflect his personal or official position on the matter.
Mutfwang further argued that the move is ill-timed and counterproductive to the party’s current needs.
He noted that expelling the party leaders at this crucial time is not a strategic step toward resolving the internal challenges currently confronting the PDP.
The governor reiterated his call for unity, dialogue, and a collective effort among members to rebuild and effectively reposition the PDP for future challenges.

His stance highlights a division within the party’s ranks regarding disciplinary actions against members deemed to have worked against the party’s interest.
