Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has emphasised that his administration’s development model is rooted in grassroots engagement, prioritising inclusivity and sustainability.
The governor made this statement during the visit of the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu, and the Austrian Ambassador to Nigeria, Thomas Schlesinger, who were in the state for a working visit on Thursday.
He highlighted that their visit reflected the significant strides his government has made in fostering a sustainable, business-friendly environment conducive to attracting investors.

Mbah reaffirmed his commitment to building 260 Smart Green Schools aimed at equipping children with the necessary skills for a rapidly evolving world, constructing 260 Type-2 Primary Healthcare Centres to provide round-the-clock healthcare services, and establishing 260 farm estates designed to transform agriculture and generate wealth.

“Development waits for no one. Enugu is ready to absorb high-skill investments across various sectors with projects that promise significant returns. As a government, we remain committed to creating opportunities, eradicating poverty, and improving living standards for all”, he said.
The minister praised Mbah’s commendable efforts in transforming Enugu into a burgeoning hub for investment and development, asserting that the state is undeniably on the right trajectory.
Bagudu and Schlesinger toured several impactful projects, including the European Business Park and the Austrian Eco-Social Market Economy Programme at Godfrey Okoye University, which empower young entrepreneurs with world-class, competitive skills.

They also visited the NG-Cares Basic Services Projects at Enugu-Ngwo, Amagu Akaegbe Ugwu, and Obeagu-Uno water schemes, alongside the 9th Mile waterworks, which were successfully completed within just 180 days in office.
The minister was particularly impressed by our efficient use of NG-Cares funds, recognizing Enugu as one of the leading states in the programme.
The Austrian Ambassador lauded the Mbah administration’s steadfast commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and described Enugu as the ideal destination for investment, innovation, and growth.
“His sentiments reaffirm our goal of positioning Enugu as a gateway to shared prosperity through impactful partnerships.”
