The Kogi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has publicly distanced itself from former Senator Dino Melaye, warning him to immediately cease presenting himself as a member of the party.
Speaking in Lokoja on Friday, the state ADC Public Relations Officer, Mr Tayo John, stated categorically that Melaye has never been registered with the party at ward, local government, or state level.
“Let me state unequivocally that Dino Melaye is not a member of ADC in Kogi State. He is not known in his ward as a member of our party.
Therefore, he has no identity in our party and can not speak in the interest of ADC in Kogi State,” John declared.
The spokesman accused Melaye of repeatedly interfering in the party’s affairs and launching unprovoked attacks through traditional and social media platforms.
He described the former lawmaker as “a social media content creator” whose actions are designed solely to generate online engagement rather than advance any legitimate political cause.
John emphasised that the authentic state executive committee of the ADC remains intact and operates independently, rejecting any suggestion of merger or association with what he termed “marauders” claiming membership.
“Dino Melaye is an impostor whose activities do not align with the principles and objectives of the African Democratic Congress. He lacks any say in the composition of the party’s leadership,” he added.
