Former President Muhammadu Buhari has reaffirmed his membership and unwavering loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC), dismissing speculations suggesting otherwise.
In a statement signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu yesterday, Buhari made it clear that he remains a committed APC member and wants to be recognized as such.
Without referencing any individuals or ongoing discussions within the party, he emphasised his dedication to the APC, which gave him the platform to serve two terms as Nigeria’s president.
“I am an APC member, and I like to be addressed as such. I will try to popularize the party by all means,” Buhari stated.

Expressing gratitude for the support he received from the party before and during his presidency, Buhari noted that he considers his time in office the highest honour and has no further demands.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the party’s founding fathers in establishing a strong political structure to uphold democracy and the constitution, stressing that such sacrifices should be valued and preserved.
The former president’s statement comes amid ongoing debates within the APC, as party leaders deliberate on key issues affecting its future.
