Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, on Tuesday, visited victims of a recent road accident receiving treatment at the University of Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH) in Ondo.
The victims, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), were injured while traveling from Ilaje Local Government Area to Akure for the party’s mega campaign rally last week.
The New Daily Prime reported that Governor Aiyedatiwa was declared winner of the governorship election on Sunday defeating his closest opponent, Agboola Ajayi of People Democratic Party (PDP).
Accompanied by the Commissioner for Health, Banji Ajaka, the governor was guided around the hospital by the Chief Medical Director, Gbala Michael Olumide, to inspect the patients’ conditions.

Among the injured were Oroyo Opeloye Josephine, Oroyo Tale, Odolo Omosaye, and Elumalero Temidire, some of whom were already preparing to be discharged.
Speaking on behalf of the victims, Elumalero expressed gratitude for the governor’s visit and the care they had received.
He briefed the governor on the accident’s details and thanked him for the support provided to them during their recovery.
In addition to visiting the patients, the governor conducted an impromptu inspection of the hospital’s facilities.

He assured that his administration would prioritize the improvement of the hospital’s infrastructure and services to better serve the people of the state.
