Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has assured that internal disagreements within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are being resolved amicably, describing the issues as a “family affair” that requires no external interference.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Monday after chairing the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee of the PDP National Convention Committee, Governor Adeleke emphasised that the party remains united and well-prepared for its upcoming national convention.
Adeleke, who serves as the Deputy Chairman of the Convention and Chair of the Accommodation Sub-Committee, confirmed that all logistical arrangements are in place for the event, which is scheduled to hold on 15 and 16 October.
“We have just concluded the inaugural meeting of the Accommodation Sub-Committee. Everyone was present, and we have resolved all outstanding issues to ensure the convention proceeds smoothly. We believe it will be very successful,” he said.
Addressing concerns over reported divisions within the PDP, the governor downplayed the situation and reiterated the party’s internal capacity to manage disputes.
“I can assure you that we are meeting and resolving our issues internally. It is a family affair. We do not want anyone outside to add sugar, pepper, or salt to the matter. The PDP is a family, and we know how to manage our affairs,” Adeleke stated.
He also highlighted the party’s tradition of internal organisation, adherence to due process, and collective decision-making, expressing confidence that the forthcoming convention would further demonstrate the PDP’s readiness for future national leadership.
