Former Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai, has called on the people of Zamfara State to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in a united effort to address the state’s worsening security and economic challenges.
Speaking on Sunday in Gusau during a gathering of ADC supporters, El-Rufai said the party was committed to restoring peace, revitalising the economy, and ensuring food security across the state. He noted that the ADC’s development-oriented agenda offered a viable alternative for citizens seeking real progress.
“The ADC has clear plans to improve security, boost economic activities, and enhance food supply in Zamfara. I urge residents to come together under our party to build a more secure and prosperous future,” El-Rufai said.
He urged party members to remain united, warning against acts of sabotage that could weaken the party’s efforts ahead of the 2027 general elections. He also encouraged stronger collaboration with youth and women’s groups to promote awareness of the ADC’s programmes at the grassroots level.
In his remarks, the ADC’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Abubakar Atiku, described El-Rufai’s visit as a major boost to the party’s activities in Zamfara, saying it would help consolidate internal unity and strengthen cooperation among members.
The State Chairman of the ADC, Alhaji Kabiru Garba, said the event drew participants from all 14 local government areas of Zamfara, including a large number of youths and women. He noted that the ADC continued to attract new members and was steadily becoming a significant political force in the state.
Local politicians, Islamic scholars, and community leaders also attended the gathering, pledging support for the ADC’s mission to restore stability and development in Zamfara and across Nigeria.
El-Rufai concluded by advising voters to ensure they obtained and secured their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that civic participation was key to achieving meaningful change.
