Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has made a strong statement in Nasarawa State on Monday as he inaugurated the African Democratic Congress (ADC) office in Keana Local Government Area.
Welcomed with regal fanfare by the Sarkin Keana, the ribbon-cutting ceremony signalled a major step in the ADC’s rising influence ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, attended by traditional rulers, party supporters, and community members, highlighted the ADC’s strategic drive to strengthen its grassroots base in Nasarawa.

El-Rufai, who recently defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to align with the ADC, described the new office as a “fiery symbol” of the party’s unstoppable momentum.
“This is more than a building; it is a beacon of hope for a united Nigeria,” he declared, stressing the ADC’s pledge to inclusive governance and its challenge to the political status quo.
The Sarkin Keana praised El-Rufai’s commitment to national unity and grassroots mobilisation, calling the ADC’s expansion a welcome boost to Keana’s political scene.
Supporters chanted slogans of solidarity, with many voicing confidence in the party’s chances in 2027.
The inauguration, however, came amid controversy, as El-Rufai’s recent political manoeuvres, including coalition-building with opposition parties, have drawn criticism from rivals.

The Keana office opening also followed reports of tension in Kaduna, where police recently summoned El-Rufai and other ADC leaders over allegations of incitement and public disturbance —accusations the former governor dismissed as politically motivated.
