The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) David Mark, has declared that Nigerians are tired of political slogans and statistics that fail to enhance their daily lives.
Speaking at the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, Mark outlined a vision for a principled, accountable ADC that prioritises citizens’ welfare over personal agendas.
Addressing party leaders, the former Senate President underscored the ADC’s founding ethos: creating a Nigeria that works for all.

“The ADC is driven by values, not personalities,” he asserted, positioning the party as an institution rooted in purpose and determination rather than fleeting impulses.
Mark delineated four non-negotiable leadership pillars: character, competence, courage, and discipline—to steer the party’s course.
Mark pledged to entrench internal democracy, transparency, and inclusivity, ensuring the supremacy of the ADC’s constitution over individual interests.
He unveiled a new “integrity and performance compact” focused on open governance, merit-based appointments, clean elections, and citizen-centric service delivery.
This framework, he added, would champion inclusivity for women, youth, farmers, and persons with disabilities, fostering equitable representation.
The ADC chairman vowed to uphold the separation of powers, restore legislative and judicial independence, and ensure budgets reflect public priorities through transparent planning and auditing.
A merit-driven judiciary, he argued, is essential to deliver unbiased justice efficiently, addressing Nigerians’ yearning for tangible outcomes like food security, reliable electricity, job creation, and safety.
“Nigerians are tired of slogans and statistics that do not translate into their welfare,” Mark declared, criticising rhetoric divorced from impact.

He committed the ADC to bolstering farmers, fortifying small businesses, and ensuring transparent use of public funds to deliver measurable improvements in living standards.
Mark’s remarks signal the ADC’s ambition to carve a distinct path in Nigeria’s political landscape, positioning itself as a beacon of accountability and results-driven governance.
