The Bauchi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has vehemently rejected attempts to designate the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as the party’s national leader, branding the title unconstitutional, illegal, and invalid. The chapter further insisted that Wike remains expelled from the party.
In a press conference on Sunday, state Publicity Secretary Dayyabu Chiroma also dismissed directives from Wike loyalists ordering PDP members to vacate party offices across the state, declaring such orders “null, void, illegal, and of absolutely no effect.”

Chiroma condemned what he termed “thinly veiled threats, reckless accusations, and pre-emptive attempts to assign blame for hypothetical acts of violence,” describing them as signs of desperation and irresponsibility.
“We ask: what legitimate authority resorts to intimidation rather than law, and what lawful leadership governs by fear instead of constitutional process?” he posed.
The spokesman emphasised that the Bauchi PDP is a law-abiding organisation dedicated to peace, democratic principles, and adherence to the rule of law.
He stated that the party would not be swayed by “alarmist rhetoric” designed to manufacture tension or a false crisis.

Chiroma rejected efforts to establish a parallel party structure in the state, labelling the Wike-aligned faction as unlawful and contrary to the PDP constitution and procedures.
Addressing the specific eviction directive for party secretariats, he questioned its legitimacy: “By what authority do impostors issue eviction notices over party property they neither control nor lawfully administer?”
The Bauchi PDP reaffirmed its commitment to internal democracy, calling on members to stay calm and united.
