The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced a postponement of its crucial National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings, shifting both gatherings to later this month.
In a brief official notice signed by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and published on the APC website on Sunday, the ruling party stakeholders were informed of the new schedule.

The National Caucus meeting, originally planned for an earlier date, will now hold on Thursday, 18 December 2025, commencing at 6:00 p.m. The all-important NEC meeting follows the next day, Friday, 19 December 2025, and is set to begin at 3:00 p.m.
Both meetings will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, maintaining the tradition of hosting the party’s highest decision-making organs within the seat of federal power.
Although the notice did not state the reason for the rescheduling, sources within the party circles suggest the adjustment was made to allow broader consultation and to accommodate the busy end-of-year calendars of key stakeholders, including President Bola Tinubu, state governors, National Assembly leaders and members of the National Working Committee.
The Caucus and NEC sessions are widely expected to address a range of critical issues, including the lingering fallout from the 2023 general election petitions, internal zoning arrangements ahead of future polls, the party’s performance in recent governorship elections in Edo and Ondo States, and strategies for managing growing public discontent over economic hardship and insecurity.
