Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State have concluded a four-day strategic meeting aimed at strengthening the party’s structure and cohesion as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
The meeting, convened by former governor and immediate past National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, was held at his Kano residence and drew participation from party leaders across all 44 local government areas. The final day focused on stakeholders from the Kano North Senatorial District, including local government chairpersons, caucus members, and other influential party figures.
Speaking during the closing session, Ganduje said the extended consultations were designed to foster unity, rebuild trust, and consolidate the party’s position as the dominant political force in both Kano and the nation.
“The purpose of this meeting over the last three days has been to ensure complete unity in our party from top to bottom and to reaffirm our solidarity with the Federal Government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Ganduje said.
He noted that delegates and executives had demonstrated strong commitment to maintaining the APC’s relevance and influence ahead of the next electoral cycle.
According to Ganduje, leaders from all 44 LGAs requested permission to commence public endorsements of President Tinubu as the party’s sole presidential candidate for 2027.

“We have resolved that all local governments in the state should gather their party officials, stakeholders, and supporters to make a public pronouncement endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our sole candidate for 2027,” he said.
As part of renewed mobilisation efforts, Ganduje directed that all APC offices across the state be reopened and fully functional. He also announced plans to deploy ICT experts in preparation for the party’s nationwide digital registration exercise.
He reminded stakeholders that Kano had previously recorded the highest number of APC members in Nigeria and expressed confidence that the state would retain that position.
“Each local government is to provide three computer experts who will be trained at the state headquarters and deployed for the e-registration exercise. We assure you that, once again, Kano will produce the highest number of registered party members,” he stated.
