The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa State on Monday held ward congresses across all 226 wards in the state’s 21 local government areas, with party officials describing the exercise as peaceful and well organised.
Chairman of the congress committee, Ephraim Agber, who monitored the process, said the outcome reflected unity within the party and strong grassroots support.
Speaking in Girie Local Government Area, Agber commended members for their conduct, noting that the congresses were largely carried out through consensus.
He said, “I am happy with what we have seen. Everywhere we went, people were jubilating. It shows that the party is united.”

Agber added that the smooth conduct of the exercise sends a strong signal ahead of future elections, and expressed confidence that the party would maintain its dominance in the state.
He also praised the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, saying the outcome of the congresses reflects his style of governance.
A former member of the House of Representatives, Emmanuel Bello, also described the exercise as peaceful, and then urged the governor to continue policies that promote fairness and justice.
Bello said, “The congresses were calm and organised. This shows that the party is working as one family.”
Another party chieftain, Suleiman Kakanda, said the outcome strengthens the party’s chances in future elections. He thus called on members to remain united.
He urged party supporters to work together to secure victory in all elective positions in the next general elections.
The ward congresses form part of the party’s internal process to strengthen its structure at the grassroots level.
Party officials said the next stage, the local government congresses, is scheduled to be held later in the week.
