The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally announced that its National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) will meet on Monday, 15 December 2025, and Tuesday, 16 December 2025, respectively. Both high-level gatherings are scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The announcement was contained in an official notice signed by the APC National Secretary, Senator Ajibola Basiru, and published on the party’s website on Wednesday. According to the notice, the National Caucus meeting will convene at 6:00 p.m. on 15 December.
The National Caucus is one of the statutory organs of the party as outlined in Article 11 of the APC Constitution. It is composed of key national stakeholders and influential party figures. Those expected to participate include the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (North and South), National Secretary and other national officers; past and present Presidents and Vice Presidents who are members of the party; former and current leaders of the National Assembly; serving and past state governors; state party chairmen; former national officers; zonal chairmen; and designated representatives.
“All Members of the National Caucus are by this invitation to TAKE NOTICE of the meeting in accordance with Article 11.5 of the Constitution,” the statement read.
The NEC meeting will follow the next day, on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at 12:00 p.m. The NEC is one of the most powerful organs of the party, empowered under Article 13.1 of the APC Constitution to make key decisions relating to the administration and strategic direction of the party.
Expected attendees include the National Working Committee members, deputy national officers, state chairmen, zonal representatives and other members elected at the National Convention. The NEC will also comprise the National Financial Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Auditor and their deputies, alongside the National Woman Leader, National Youth Leader and other top officials.
“All Members of the National Executive Committee are by this invitation to TAKE NOTICE of the meeting in accordance with Article 12.3 of the APC Constitution,” the notice added.
The December meetings are expected to address internal party matters, review organisational strategies, and prepare the APC for upcoming political engagements and governance challenges ahead of 2026.
