Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State on Friday presented three critical requests to President Bola Tinubu during a historic courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock.
He led a 104-member delegation composed of state stakeholders, along with Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
The visit highlighted the unity and shared vision among a bipartisan gathering of political, traditional, and community leaders from various parties, all focused on the development of Akwa Ibom State.
During the meeting, Governor Eno addressed the pressing issue of ecological disaster mitigation, urging for urgent federal intervention to tackle the significant ecological challenges facing the state.

He also requested reimbursement of billions spent on disaster management efforts.
Additionally, Governor Eno discussed the Ibom Deep Seaport project, emphasising the need for federal support to accelerate this transformative initiative, which is vital for job creation, trade, and economic growth in the region.

“Arise Resorts & Road Projects: An invitation for the President to commission these transformative projects in May 2025, turning erosion-ravaged areas into world-class destinations”, he said.
He stated that these initiatives are essential for driving economic growth and enhancing the lives of our people.
He expressed his appreciation to President Tinubu in advance for granting these requests, which are vital to the development of Akwa Ibom State.
“I am deeply thankful to the Senate President for his kind words and for acknowledging the unity we have fostered in Akwa Ibom. This unity is the foundation of our progress.
