Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has firmly denied reports suggesting his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), declaring that he remains committed to both the party and his mandate to serve the people of Osun.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the dualisation of a 3.5km township road in Ila-Orangun, Adeleke dismissed the speculation, asserting, “I was elected on the platform of the PDP and so shall I remain in the party. I’m not going anywhere.”
The governor praised the commencement of the Ila township road project, calling it a milestone achievement amidst national uncertainty. He reiterated his vow to serve Osun State faithfully and said he would not be distracted from that commitment.
Adeleke outlined key infrastructure achievements under his administration, including the reconstruction, rehabilitation, and renovation of over 175 kilometres of roads. He noted that several other road dualisation and flyover projects are currently underway.

Of particular importance, he said, is the 39km Osogbo–Ikirun–Inisha–Okuku–Ijabe–Ila Odo road, which connects Osun to neighbouring Kwara State. He pledged to complete the strategic route, which he described as crucial to the state’s development agenda.
“The second phase, which we are flagging off today, is almost the same length as what was completed in 12 years. By the grace of God, we intend to deliver this project within 12 months,” Adeleke stated confidently.
The governor concluded by crediting divine providence for his political journey, saying, “We are all programmed by Almighty God to be what we have been, what we are, and what we will be in the future.”
His remarks are seen as a clear message to critics and political rivals that he remains grounded in the PDP and focused on governance rather than political speculation.
