The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has denied any knowledge of a legal challenge against it concerning the party’s leadership structure.
Speaking during an interview on Politics Today, a programme aired on Channels Television, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, said there was no ongoing court case involving the party.
“We are not aware that anybody is in court against ADC,” Abdullahi stated.
“What we have is the completion of the administrative process of changing the leadership of the ADC.”
He further criticised those opposing the party’s current leadership, suggesting that their claims lack substance:
“What we have found is that people hold press conferences and make claims as well as threats. But in the end, they know they can’t follow the hollowness of their standing.”

This comes as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday officially recognised the current leadership of the ADC, naming former Senate President David Mark as National Chairman and former Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola as National Secretary.
The development signals a move towards stability within the party, which had been the subject of internal disputes in recent months. However, opposition voices within the ADC have continued to raise questions about the legitimacy of the current leadership, albeit without pursuing legal action, according to Abdullahi.
The ADC now hopes to move forward under its new leadership ahead of the next electoral cycle.
