The African Democratic Congress (ADC), one of Nigeria’s emerging opposition parties, has announced the temporary closure of its National Secretariat as part of the annual end-of-year holidays.
In a statement issued by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC informed the public that the secretariat would shut down on 23 December 2025, with full operations resuming on 5 January 2026.

The closure is intended to allow staff and party officials to observe the Christmas and New Year festivities.
However, the party assured that essential skeletal services would remain operational during this period, while all other official activities at the headquarters would be suspended.
“This is to inform the public that the African Democratic Congress National Secretariat will close for the year on 23rd December 2025 and will resume full operations on 5th January 2026,” the statement read.
“During this period, only skeletal services will be available, while all other official activities at the Secretariat will be temporarily suspended.”
The ADC extended gratitude to its members, partners, and supporters for their unwavering loyalty and cooperation throughout the year.
The party emphasised that such support is vital for its continued growth and stability.
Looking ahead, the ADC reiterated its commitment to upholding democratic ideals and engaging constructively in national discourse as it gears up for activities in 2026.
In recent months, the party has gained prominence through high-profile defections, including that of Senator Ireti Kingibe, and its positioning as a key opposition force ahead of the 2027 general elections.
