The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of being the “most divisive in Nigerian history”, claiming it has resorted to manipulating data to deflect criticism over allegations of nepotism and regional bias.
The party in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, alleged that a recently released government report on infrastructure, titled “Infrastructure Equity for Every Region”, was not an act of transparency but rather a “panicked propaganda attempt at damage control.”

Abdullahi stated that the report’s content and context suggest a desperate effort to counter mounting criticism about exclusionary governance.
He pointed to what he called “obvious manipulations” in the document, which he said, instead of vindicating the government, “actually showcases the cronyism, sloppiness, and lack of equitable distribution” of projects.
Abdullahi cited several examples of what he described as misclassified projects.
He noted that the Damaturu–Maiduguri road, as well as the Bama and Dikwa roads, all located in the North-East, were wrongly listed under the North-West.
He further pointed out that the Lokoja–Okene dualisation and the Benue–9th Mile road, both situated in the North-Central zone, were also incorrectly categorised as North-Western projects.
Abdullahi additionally alleged that some projects appeared twice—once in their correct region and again under the North-West—and accused the government of “padding” its infographics with “brazen creativity.”

Additionally, Abdullahi claimed that many of the projects the Tinubu administration is celebrating were actually initiated by the previous Mohammed Buhari government and have been “repackaged and presented as fresh achievements.”
He maintained that the government’s actions demonstrate that it is running a divisive and exclusive administration, and that a colourful, propaganda-filled infographic cannot hide the truth.
