The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has issued a stern warning against indiscipline in its Adamawa State chapter, vowing to quash any actions that threaten party unity and strength.
In a statement signed on Wednesday, by National Publicity Secretary Bolaji Abdullahi, the national headquarters expressed alarm at escalating divisions among members, which risk derailing efforts to forge a cohesive opposition force.
The ADC reminded members of the National Working Committee’s (NWC) decision on 8 October 2025 to establish Interim Executive Committees to oversee state chapters temporarily.
The New Daily Prime reported the party had inaugurated an interim leadership in the state
Following thorough investigations, the party validated the process held on Saturday, 25 October, under the supervision of the North East Zonal Vice Chairman.
This exercise, deemed fully compliant with NWC guidelines, installed Barrister Sadiq Dasin as Interim Chairman for Adamawa.
“The party considers the 25 October process, which produced Barrister Sadiq Dasin as interim chairman, to be in line with NWC approval,” the statement affirmed.
It urged those pursuing parallel structures to reconsider and embrace reconciliation, while tasking Dasin with extending fellowship and addressing legitimate grievances.
Abdullahi reiterated the ADC’s dedication to fairness and justice, pledging to tackle genuine concerns.
However, he drew a firm line: “The party will not tolerate any act of indiscipline likely to jeopardise ongoing efforts to build a strong and truly democratic organisation.”
The warning underscores the national leadership’s resolve to maintain order amid factional tensions pitting loyalists of influential figures against one another.
Dasin now shoulders the burden of uniting rival camps, ensuring the party emerges robust rather than fractured.
