The Adamawa State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has sworn in a new harmonised State Executive Council, bringing an end to months of internal factionalism and leadership disputes.
The reconciliation process has united previously rival factions under a single leadership structure, with the swearing-in ceremony held in Yola marking a significant milestone for the party in the state.
Long-standing chairman Yohannah Shehu has been reinstated to lead the new team, supported by Mohammed Suleiman as deputy chairman, Zubairu Ishaq as secretary, and Japhet Pamassa as assistant secretary.

Delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the new executives, organising secretary Saidu Komsiri described the occasion as a triumphant moment following “a very challenging period” for the party in Adamawa.
He highlighted the achievement of reconciliation, unity, and renewed strength.
Komsiri expressed deep appreciation to the party’s national leader, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, for his “fatherly intervention” and pivotal role in facilitating the peace process.

He described the signed understanding agreement between all parties as clear evidence that ADC Adamawa has prioritised reconciliation over rancour, unity over division, and progress over personal ambition.
The new organising secretary urged all members of the executive to view their appointments not as personal rewards but as a solemn call to selfless service.
“We are entrusted with the responsibility to rebuild confidence, strengthen our party structures, mobilise our grassroots, and prepare ADC Adamawa for greater victories ahead,” he said.
