A prominent chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ibrahim Mani has declared that the party remains undeterred by defections to the All Progressives Congress (APC), asserting that elections are won by the people’s will, not party size.
Speaking on Daily Politics on Trust TV on Wednesday, Mani’s words carried the conviction of someone who believes in the resilience of Nigeria’s voters, weary from economic hardship but determined to shape their future.
“Defecting governors don’t carry entire states with them,” Mani said, his voice steady with the wisdom of a seasoned observer.
“The people know what they want, and they’re not blind to the APC’s failures.”
He stressed that the voting population, battered by today’s economic woes, will decide 2027’s outcome.
“It’s not defectors who call the shots it’s the people, the ones feeling the real pain,” he added, echoing the frustrations of millions.
Mani reaffirmed the ADC’s faith in democracy, rejecting any violent power grabs.
“We believe in a maturing democratic process,” he said, his words a balm for supporters like student Chidi, who dreams of change through ballots, not bullets.
The ADC, Mani insisted, stands for credible elections driven by the people’s wishes, not the chaos of guns or coercion.
The party’s focus remains on empowering voters to reclaim their voice, proving that true power lies not in defections but in the collective will of a nation yearning for better days.
