Two persons have purportedly been killed in a suspected cult clash in Owo town of Owo Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Monday.
Naija Confra, an advocacy group, shared on their X page, disclosing that a member of a group named Alfa was killed in the early hours of today while making his way back home from a club.
The advocacy group for peace revealed that no group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Alfa’s group unleashed an attack on their rival, believing them to be behind the tragic incident.
In a circulated video, a lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified man’s was seen on the floor while residents ran for safety.
An eyewitness who spoke with The Hope alleged that the attack might be related to an unresolved issue dating back over a decade ago, which claimed the lives of many residents.

A source in the community averred that a 52-year-old man, Fisayo Oladipupo, was shot by an unknown assailant on Sunday, noting that about 15-year ago the attacker’s father’s house was set ablaze by local youth.
Meanwhile, the victim’s father’s house was set on fire on Monday. His body has been deposited in the mortuary at the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.
Although, as of the press time, the Ondo State Police Command is yet to react to this issue.
