Odera Mbadiwe, elder brother of former Big Brother Naija housemates and popular duo, the Mbadiwe twins, has broken his silence following days of anxiety over his whereabouts.
The hospitality entrepreneur, who was reported missing earlier in the week by his family, took to social media to reassure the public that he is safe and currently recuperating after a harrowing ordeal.
In a heartfelt statement shared on his Instagram page, Odera disclosed that his disappearance was the result of ingesting harmful substances that left him incapacitated and unable to communicate.
Though details of the incident remain unclear, he confirmed that he was eventually found in distress by two good Samaritans, a young woman and a man, who quickly contacted his family and helped to ensure he received medical attention.
“After missing for three days, I, Odera Mbadiwe of the Ozuomba Mbadiwe family, am deeply thankful to be safe and recovering,” he wrote. “It was later discovered that a harmful substance had been introduced to my system, by person or persons unknown to me, which led to a very difficult and uncertain time.”

Odera went on to express profound gratitude to everyone who showed concern during the tense period, including his family, friends, fans, and the general public who shared posts and mobilised efforts to find him.
He also extended appreciation to the Nigerian Police and other security agencies for their assistance.
The entrepreneur admitted that the incident was not only physically draining but also emotionally overwhelming, forcing him to confront his vulnerability and rethink his approach to life.
“I feel much better now, growing stronger every day and returning to my old self,” he wrote, assuring supporters that he is on the path to full recovery.
News of his disappearance had sparked worry online, with many Nigerians joining in the search by amplifying the family’s call for help.
Social media platforms were flooded with posts urging anyone with useful information about his whereabouts to come forward.
The public outpouring of concern highlighted the strong connection the Mbadiwe family shares with fans of the Big Brother Naija franchise and Nigeria’s entertainment community at large.
Odera’s brothers, famously known as the Mbadiwe twins, had been at the forefront of rallying support and sharing updates on social media during the period he was missing.
Their relief was evident after they confirmed that their elder brother had been found alive and was receiving care.
While Odera did not go into specifics about how the harmful substance entered his system, his statement has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Friends and well-wishers have since called for a thorough investigation to ensure those responsible are identified and brought to justice.
Beyond the investigation, Odera emphasised that he is focusing on his recovery and mental well-being. He described the experience as a life-changing one, saying it taught him valuable lessons about resilience, gratitude, and the importance of community.
“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who prayed, reached out, and stood by me through this dark moment,” he concluded. “I will come out of this stronger, wiser, and more determined to live with purpose.”
As he continues to regain his strength, fans and colleagues have flooded his comment section with messages of encouragement, celebrating his survival and wishing him a speedy recovery.
