1. D’banj Urges FG to Intervene in P-Square, Jude Okoye Rift

Veteran Afrobeats star, D’banj, called on the Federal Government to step in and help resolve the ongoing conflict between Nigerian music duo, P-Square and their elder brother and former manager, Jude Okoye.
The rift took a new turn recently after Peter sued Jude and his label, Northside Entertainment, for allegedly defrauding him. Paul also entered the fray, defending Jude and accusing Peter of trying to ruin their brother’s reputation. The case, reportedly involving over $1 million, remains in court and continues to generate public interest.
During a recent interview on Adesope Live, D’banj described the situation as painful and unnecessary. He urged all parties to consider reconciliation and asked for external help from respected figures or the government.
“The fight between Peter and Jude is sad. You can’t always predict how fights end,” D’banj said. “I spoke with Peter recently. He shared a few things with me, and I believe reconciliation is still possible. It starts with dialogue.”
D’banj stressed the value of P-Square’s music catalogue, saying it holds immense potential. He suggested that if money is the problem, a structured agreement could help.
He also recalled how former President Olusegun Obasanjo once intervened to recover Jay Jay Okocha’s lost funds from a collapsed bank.
“This issue may need more than industry friends. It may require national intervention,” D’banj concluded.
2. Daddy Freeze revealed he lost all his income after criticising pastors

Popular media personality, Daddy Freeze, opened up about the financial struggles he faced after speaking out against Nigerian pastors. In a recent interview with Stephen Akintayo on the Leadership podcast, Freeze revealed that he lost all his income from his Master of Ceremonies (MC) business shortly after taking a public stand.
According to him, he used to earn as much as ₦1.5 million per event when the dollar exchange rate was ₦150. His high-profile gigs brought in up to $10,000 every two months, around $60,000 annually, from just that line of work.
However, everything changed after he began criticising powerful religious figures. “When I started speaking against pastors, I lost 100% of my MC jobs. For about two years, it was really tough,” he said.
He added that since 2019, he hasn’t received a single MC job. In one instance, a client cancelled an event after people online threatened not to attend because of his involvement. Although the client had paid upfront, he still chose to pull out. “He told me to keep the money, but he couldn’t go ahead with the event,” Freeze recounted.
Despite the setbacks, he remains vocal and undeterred.

Earlier, Mercy Johnson promised to address the allegations publicly. However, she has yet to release any statement, prompting criticism from her accusers. Reacting to this delay, Mimi Chima claimed the actress is avoiding the issue because she has no defence.
“She said she would speak to Nigerians, but up till now, she has said nothing. That’s because she knows the truth, that she is a powerful witch,” Mimi declared. She also alleged that Mercy is surrounded by more than 100 evil spirits, which she claims harm people close to her.
Mimi ended her outburst by calling the actress “useless” and insisting her powers have failed, leaving her without any explanation to give the public.
