Residents of Woro community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State have rejected relief materials brought by a government delegation, insisting that their priority is the rescue of abducted family members.
The delegation reportedly arrived with items such as mats, buckets, and school bags for victims of a recent terrorist attack in the area.
In a video seen from the scene, grieving residents were shown refusing to accept the items, describing them as inappropriate given the scale of loss in the community. The items were said to have been delivered in an ambulance.
Angry residents maintained that what they need is not relief supplies but urgent security intervention and the return of their loved ones.

Some of the residents said, “We don’t need these things.
“What we want is security and the return of our people.”
The rejection follows reports that over 200 people were killed in the attack blamed on suspected Boko Haram-linked terrorists. At least 176 women and children were also abducted during the assault and remain in captivity.
Community members said many of those kidnapped are wives and children of victims who were killed. This has worsened the humanitarian situation in the area.
The incident comes after earlier footage showed abducted victims pleading for rescue. The victims, taken on February 3 from Woro and neighbouring Kososo communities, appeared weak and distressed.
In the video, a man identified as one of the attackers claimed responsibility, saying the victims were being given what he called a final opportunity to appeal to authorities.
The voice said, “We are the ones who kidnapped the people of Woro and Kososo.
“We are giving them a final opportunity to appeal to the government.”
Some of the abducted victims, mostly women and children, were seen calling for urgent help.
A young woman speaking in English said, “Please, we are begging you, this is the last opportunity they gave us. We have small children with us and some pregnant women. Please assist us.”
Another victim, speaking in Yoruba, appealed to both Kwara and Oyo State governments to act quickly to secure their release.
