Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has claimed that the recent killings in Jos were intended to embarrass President Bola Tinubu on his birthday.
The socialite made the statement while reacting to the attack in the Gari Ya Waye community, Angwan Rukuba, in Plateau State, where more than 40 people were reportedly killed during the violence on March 29.

Cubana Chief Priest, who is part of a support group backing Tinubu’s re-election, said he had been deeply affected by videos from the aftermath of the attack, especially one showing a grieving woman and her child.
“I have been cold. In the past few days, the video of that woman and her child can’t get out of my head,” he wrote on his Instagram story. “When will these killings ever stop?”
He also criticised Governor Caleb Mutfwang for visiting the affected community in an armoured vehicle, arguing that leaders should be willing to share in the risks faced by the people.
“The Governor in Jos pulled up in a bunker. Does it mean everyone should now pull up in bunkers because he is more scared for his life than the people?” he wrote.
According to Cubana Chief Priest, the timing of the attack suggested that it was meant to tarnish the image of the president, as the incident happened on Tinubu’s 74th birthday.
“This was clearly done to embarrass our president on his birthday,” he added.
His remarks have generated discussion online, with some people agreeing with his view while others argued that the focus should remain on the victims and the broader insecurity crisis in Plateau State.
