The Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, is set to begin a two-week annual leave starting from Sunday, November 9 to Monday, November 24, 2025.

This was announced in a statement issued on Friday in Ado-Ekiti by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, who explained that the leave forms part of the governor’s statutory entitlement.

Oyebode noted that although the governor will be officially on leave, he will remain available to attend to critical state matters when necessary.

“The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, will commence a two-week annual leave beginning from Sunday, November 9, 2025, and will resume office on Monday, November 24, 2025. The two-week leave is part of the Governor’s statutory annual leave,” the statement read.

This marks the first time Governor Oyebanji will embark on annual leave since assuming office on October 16, 2022.

The statement further clarified that the governor’s brief absence will not disrupt government operations, as established administrative structures will continue to function effectively.

“While on leave, the governor will be attending to crucial state matters as the need arises,” Oyebode added.

Governor Oyebanji, who has served as Ekiti State’s chief executive for three years, has been commended for his focus on good governance, infrastructure development, and economic growth within the state.
