The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday distanced itself from the internal crisis rocking the African Democratic Congress (ADC), saying the opposition party was responsible for its own troubles.
In a statement issued by its spokesman, Felix Morka, the APC said it was irresponsible for the ADC to blame it for the party’s internal woes.

“Quite apart from being an assembly of Nigeria’s most confused and desperate politicians, the ADC has distinguished itself as a peddler of rabid conspiracy theories about what the APC is or is not doing to undermine the party,” Morka said.
“The ADC is a party that never was. By design, it was a kamikaze contraption with a self-destructive detonator. It had to unravel, and now it is unravelling fast,” he added.
Morka alleged that the faction led by David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola violated the party’s constitutional provisions in its emergence.
According to him, the decision by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to de-recognise the faction was lawful and justified.
“It is therefore highly escapist and irresponsible for the ADC to blame the APC for its internal woes of which they are the sole architects,” he said.
He further argued that the ADC’s failure to manage its internal affairs showed it was unfit to govern. “A party that cannot fix itself cannot possibly fix Nigeria,” Mr Morka added.
